As we are talking about a full-size couch and not just your standard bean bag chair size, you kinda want something a little smarter, more dressed up.
And this one is easily well turned out enough to take pride of place in your lounge.
What gives it that air of sophistication is the chenille fabric cover.
That’s exactly the kind of fabric you’d choose for a regular couch. And it’s also the kind of fabric choice you only get with Jaxx bean bag couches.
You see most bean bags have micro-suede covers and while the fabric is soft and suitable for its purpose, it can look a little creased and untidy.
Of course, Jaxx also does a micro-suede version too, which you can see in the photo at the very top of this post.
However, chenille is just plusher and more high-end looking, it’s also a popular fabric for soft-furnishings because of its soft, rich appearance and that lovely two-tone shimmer.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not practical.
Chenille that is made for upholstery is generally made from hardwearing polyester and that’s the case with this couch. So the cover is machine washable in cold water and it can even be tumble-dried on low heat.
If you’d like something a little more casual than chenille, take a look at the photo below.
The Jaxx dark denim version has a more contemporary feel to it. And, just to give it that extra authenticity, it even has a chunky label and brass YKK zipper detail. Just so you know this cover is also removable and washable.
Now the couch we have featured here for our top pick is the 7 feet version. Although you do have to consider it will naturally spill over all around, so you could say, it’s at least 7 feet.
That’s bigger than some regular couches. So you’ll need plenty of space for this one. Though there is a 5′.5″ version in dark denim if you really need to downsize.
But just remember, as with any bean bag whatever the size, you wouldn’t sit right on the end.
You’ll naturally sit at least a foot in. That means the surplus will give you something like an armrest, and of course, you’ll need a little room between you and the next person.
This couch will seat 2 – 3 people. But as with all bean bag couches, don’t expect it to behave in the same way as your couch.
You see although there’s plenty of filling in this one so you’ll never hit the floor, bean bag couches, in general, are not nearly as supportive as a couch.
You have to think of them more as a day bed than a couch, so it’s a case of just diving in and having fun.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not comfortable.
This couch is so soft you could easily fall asleep on it and that’s what makes this XL 7 feet size, rather than just a large 4 or 5 feet size such a good choice: it also makes a fantastic spare bed for sleepovers.
Now for a few things I need to mention about the make-up of this couch.
Firstly it’s not filled with polystyrene beads that flatten over time. This is the modern version of bean bags and so, (to put it in their words), it’s filled with high-density, polyurethane foam micro-cushions.
This just means it’s filled with super-soft high-density shredded foam. It’ll basically feel like you’re sitting on a cloud.
One huge advantage over our budget option next is that this one has a polyester/nylon ripstop inner liner bag with a childproof zipper.
This makes life so much easier if you want to remove the cover to wash it. It also makes it a lot less messy to add more filling if you want.
That said, Jaxx do have a good reputation for not underfilling their products, and this one is amply filled.
But in the end, it does come down to a personal preference for how filled you’d like your couch to be.
It’s easy to buy extra filling if you think you’ll need it.
Here’s what you need to know:

This bean bag couch is even larger than our top pick. But at 7 feet 5 inches you get a lot for a budget price.
One thing that makes this couch such good value for money is that it has a memory foam blend fill.
Now memory foam is much denser than standard foam. It has magic exceptional bounce-back qualities. In fact, when it was first invented – before it was named memory foam – it was referred to just as slow spring back foam and that about sums it up.
Unlike a regular couch that has some structure to it, bean bag couches are all filling. So the bounce-back properties of memory foam are a welcome addition. Memory foam also lasts around 3 times longer than regular foam.
The only downside is that like many of the cheaper bean bag options out there, the fill isn’t particularly generous.
But before you go all out and buy extra filling you’d be better off getting this one fluffed up as it comes and then see what you think. It basically comes down to personal preference or whether all the foam pieces have been properly separated.
We’ll now go over a few general points about this bean bag couch that you should consider.
Just remember that like our top pick this couch is huge, and that means it’s at least 7’5″ considering it will naturally spill over at the edges. But that doesn’t mean this couch is made for more people than you want it for.
Just like a standard couch, it’ll seat around 2 -3 people. But bean bags don’t have a structure to keep them in check like regular furniture: they’re voluminous by nature. So you’ll need to allow some room for the edges of the couch to envelop around you – I mean you wouldn’t sit right on the end anyway.

Beanbag couches are basically a much more fun alternative to a regular couch. They’re already a ‘thinking outside the box’ kind of thing. So there’s no reason to choose one that’s a regular rectangular couch shape.
This big donut-shaped one would be perfect for a corner but it would equally look amazing right in the center of a room if you have enough space.
We’ve already featured a Jaxx sofa as our top pick but this cocoon-shaped one, also from Jaxx, is no less of a good choice. It’s just not strictly couch shaped and that’s the only reason it missed out.
The cocoon is also 1 foot smaller than our other two picks so far, but as it’s round and measures 6 feet across, it’s pretty much as big as you’d ever want to go. That said, it will still easily seat two adults.
It does also have one big advantage over the oblong-shaped ones and that is that it’s easily moldable into a big comfortable chair.
As you can see in the photo to the left, which shows you the soft micro-velvet cover option, you just have to turn it on its side.
Of course, we had to show you how gorgeous the chenille version that we’ve already featured looks in this cocoon shape, in the top photo.
But the faux fur version shown below is equally stunning.
In fact, I’d say for this shape, faux fur looks even better.
You see you wouldn’t generally choose a fur fabric couch but the cocoon-shaped ones look less like a couch than the oblong ones do anyway. So the faux fur fabric just looks better on this shape.

What is a Beanless bag chair?
Traditionally, bean bags had polystyrene beads in them which slowly squished flat until you ended up with way more bag than bean. Fortunately, they’ve come a long way since then and are now generally filled with soft shredded foam or a memory foam blend giving you years of bounce back.
All the bean bags we have looked at in our guide above are technically Beanless Bag Couches, but these foam-filled couches are a much more comfortable and practical choice.
Are bean bag chairs comfortable?
Bean bag couches | chairs don’t behave in the same way as a regular couch or chair because there’s no actual structure there – after all, they’re all about the filling. You can probably already tell by their shape that they’re not for sitting primly on. They’re for diving straight in and losing your self for days.
